1. Create or access a Coinbase account
Sign in or create an account only through official Coinbase pages. Do not enter Coinbase login credentials into Citrine or any Citrine Edge website form.
Coinbase Advanced is Coinbase's advanced trading surface. Citrine is not affiliated with Coinbase.
2. Check derivatives and perpetual futures eligibility
Coinbase controls derivatives eligibility, onboarding, suitability checks, regional availability, supported contracts, product access, and account requirements. If you cannot access a perpetual or futures market directly at Coinbase, Citrine cannot make you eligible.

3. Create API credentials on official Coinbase/CDP pages
Coinbase App API keys are created through Coinbase Developer Platform pages. Follow Coinbase's current authentication documentation, including any required signature algorithm, portfolio, and restriction settings.

4. Use minimum required permissions
For an automation workflow, you may need read/view access and trade access. Avoid transfer, withdrawal, or broad account-management permissions unless you have a separate reason outside Citrine. Citrine users should never enable withdrawal permissions for bot operation.
5. Download or save the API JSON securely
If Coinbase offers an API key file download, store it carefully and import it into Citrine from your Android device. Do not email private key material to yourself, paste it into chat tools, or upload it to unrelated cloud storage.
6. Import the API JSON into Citrine
Open Citrine, go to the account/API import flow, select the JSON file with Android's file picker, and confirm the app recognizes the key. The website does not collect API keys and does not call Coinbase APIs.
7. Verify with small, cautious operation
Before enabling live automation, confirm market access and account state directly in Coinbase. Start conservatively, review settings, and keep direct Coinbase access available.
8. Revoke keys if a device is lost or compromised
Immediately sign in to official Coinbase/CDP pages and delete or revoke the API key. Then stop automation, secure the account, and review orders, positions, balances, and account activity.
