FAQ
Clear answers for serious automation.
Citrine is intentionally not positioned as a shortcut around risk. Read these answers before installing, configuring, or running automation.
Is Citrine financial advice?
No. Citrine is self-directed automation software. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
Does Citrine guarantee profits?
No. Automated futures trading can cause losses, including losses amplified by leverage. Past performance and backtests do not guarantee future results.
Where do my API keys go?
Citrine is designed for local credential import after installation. Your Coinbase API JSON is intended to remain on your Android device and is not sent to Citrine Edge servers.
Are my keys stored in the APK?
No. The app does not ship with user Coinbase API keys. Users import their own credentials after installation.
Does Citrine run in the cloud?
No. Citrine is an Android app with a local automation runtime. The tradeoff is that your phone must remain powered, connected, and allowed to run in the background.
What exchange does it support?
Citrine is built around Coinbase Advanced and Coinbase perpetual futures workflows for eligible users.
Does Coinbase support perpetual futures for everyone?
No. Coinbase controls eligibility, onboarding, regions, product availability, permissions, and account requirements.
What happens if my phone restarts?
Citrine includes foreground/background persistence and restart-aware behavior, but you should always verify account and position state directly after interruption.
What is rehydration?
Rehydration is the process of rebuilding local bot state from account, position, order, and runtime information after interruption or reconnection.
What are trailing exits?
Trailing exits are automated trade-management behaviors that can move stop-loss, take-profit, or breakeven logic as a position evolves.
Why does the app need battery/background permission?
Because Citrine runs locally. Android may restrict background work unless you explicitly allow persistent operation for the app.
Why does the app require lockscreen/biometrics?
Because local trading controls and imported credentials should be protected by device-level security and an app access gate.
Should API keys have withdrawal permission?
No. Citrine users should avoid withdrawal or transfer permissions and use only the minimum Coinbase permissions required for their intended trading workflow.
How do I revoke API keys?
Sign in to official Coinbase or Coinbase Developer Platform pages, open your API key settings, and delete or revoke the key. If a device is lost, do this immediately.
What is the launch price?
The planned launch plan is Citrine Single Market at $49.99 per month for one selected market at launch.
Will more markets be added?
Multi-market support is planned, but the first launch is intentionally focused on a single market.
Will there be backtesting?
Yes, a backtesting foundation exists and a companion web dashboard is planned. Backtests are hypothetical and do not guarantee live results.
Is Citrine affiliated with Coinbase?
No. Citrine is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Coinbase.
