Start in free Explore with no API key. Learn the workspace through the Guided Demo, Paper Mode and standard backtesting before connecting Coinbase.
Learn before connecting
The Guided Demo uses example values and does not change your account or saved data. Reopen it from Support at any time. Paper Mode and standard historical backtesting need no API key.
Prepare background operation
Allow notifications and follow Citrine's Android background-operation prompts. Local trading needs power and reliable connectivity. A dedicated, powered device can be useful for longer sessions.
Review lock-screen notification privacy and recheck Android restrictions after system updates. No setting can guarantee uninterrupted operation.
Connect Coinbase when ready
Create a supported ECDSA API key for the Default portfolio. View permission is required; live account writes also need Trade. Import the JSON file inside Citrine, never on this website.
Choose your mode
Paper simulates a balance you choose. Shadow simulates from authenticated account inputs. Observation monitors without managing orders. Standard enables real automation when Complete and all trading requirements are satisfied.
Review allocation and status
Check the account, selected allocation, estimated capacity and any outstanding requirements in Edge details. Standard uses overnight margin sizing and checks the Coinbase Standard leverage setting before new entries.
Keep direct account access available
Monitor the workspace, Activity and notification. After an interruption, check status and positions directly at Coinbase. For urgent order or account issues, use Coinbase rather than waiting for support.
